'Mo' First Look Sees Palestinian Refugee Scramble To Escape Mexico As Season 2 Sets January Premiere Date

"Mo," the Netflix comedy created by and starring Mo Amer, is returning for Season 2 on Jan. 30.

The series follows Mo Najjar (Amer), an undocumented Palestinian immigrant living in Houston and seeking asylum alongside his mother and brother. Per the official logline, "Season 2 finds Mo stranded across the border and desperate to get back to Houston before his family's asylum hearing — but as a stateless refugee without a passport, he's gonna need all the hustle and charm he can muster. Little does he know that the journey home is just the start of his troubles, and there's a new guy in town ready to steal both his longtime love Maria and his falafel taco recipe."

First look photos from the season depict Mo spending time with his family — with one showing him dressed in mariachi attire after mistakenly winding up in Mexico in the Season 1 finale.

Besides Amer, the cast of "Mo" includes Teresa Ruiz, Tobe Nwigwe, Farah Bsieso, Omar Elba and Cherien Dabis. New cast members joining Season 2 include Simon Rex as Guy and Johanna Braddy as Austin, as exclusively reported by Variety.

Netflix Dramedy 'Mo' Drops Final Season Premiere Date & First-Look Photos

Mo Amer will return with new episodes of his eponymous Netflix dramedy series on January 30, with all 8 making up the show's second and final season. First-look photos can be found below.

Created by Mohammed 'Mo' Amer and Ramy Youssef, Mo follows the character of Mo Najjar, a Palestinian on the path to U.S. Citizenship who straddles the line between two cultures, three languages, and a ton of bullshit.

Season 2 finds him stranded across the border and desperate to return to Houston before his family's asylum hearing. But as a refugee without a state or a passport, he will need all the hustle and charm he can muster. His return home would be only the start of his troubles, as a new guy in town is looking to steal his longtime love Maria (Teresa Ruiz) and his falafel taco recipe.

In addition to Amer and Ruiz, Mo stars Farah Bsieso, Omar Elba, Tobe Nwigwe, Simon Rex, and Johanna Braddy.

For their work on Season 1, the show received a Peabody Award and a Gotham Award. Amer was nominated for Best Lead Performance in a New Scripted Series at the Independent Spirit Awards in 2023.

Mo Amer and Solvan "Slick" Naim are series directors and executive producers. Ramy Youssef, Harris Danow, Jacqui Rivera, Azhar Usman, and the studio A24 also executive produce.
