Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison was trending for all the wrong reasons during his press conference on Monday. However, one moment particularly stood out... And it wasn't even really part of the presser.
During his conversation with reporters, the Mavericks GM talked about the mid-season decision to trade Luka Doncic and shared insights into his relationship with team ownership. Harrison also acknowledged the mixed reactions from supporters and emphasized the importance of building a competitive roster.

In a video posted on X, Nico Harrison was seen exiting the room where the press conference was held. Upon reaching the door, the GM discovered it was locked.
Fans quickly took to social media to share their jokes at his expense.
"He knew the door was locked. He just didn't quite know how locked it was," a commenter wrote on Reddit. Another one said, "Dumont said you can't leave your room until the fans are happy again."

A Reddit user joked, "That door played some great defense. Championship Time."
"Gave away the keys to the franchise, how ironic," a poster added.
"What if he's just been fired and his team access card doesn't work anymore?" a fifth social media user asked.
A fan added, "He even fumbled opening his escape door. Lmao."
While it was a simple mistake for Harrison, it only further highlights the fact that there are plenty of eyes on him. As Dallas enters a crucial offseason, everything he does will surely be monitored closely by the Mavs fan base.
