Tom Brady Retirement Sparks Avalanche Of Gisele Bündchen Memes, Jokes - Newsweek
Tom Brady has announced his retirement from the NFL after 23 seasons and while some have rushed to congratulate him for his achievements in the game, which have led to him being dubbed the G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time), others have joked that he would be wanting to win his ex-wife back.
It isn't the first time that Brady has said he was retiring. This time last year he announced that he would be giving up the game, only to reverse the decision eight weeks later. Within a few months, there were reports that his 13-year marriage to Gisele Bündchen was on the rocks. The two filed for divorce in October.
Many now believe that Brady will be making moves to restore his marriage just months after their divorce was announced. Memes immediately flooded social media about Brady and Bündchen's would-be reconciliation.

More Getty ImagesOne has a clip of a man running on which the face of Brady had been superimposed, with a caption to the video reading: "Tom Brady running back to Gisele after his retirement."
Another Twitter user posted a video clip of a defendant singing about how they are sorry for their misdemeanors from the stand, captioning the post: "How Tom Brady going back to Gisele Bündchen after his second retirement."
A third person shared a clip of Leonardo DiCaprio giving a speech as Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street accompanied by the caption: "Tom Brady exactly one month from now after his plan to get Gisele back doesn't work."
In the clip, DiCaprio says "I'm not leaving" along with some other colorful language.
Brady announced his retirement for a second time in two years on Wednesday morning, in a video that he posted on his social media pages.
After the fanfare of 12 months ago, Brady decided to make his announcement a little more low-key this time around.
Brady told fans: I'll get to the point right away. I'm retiring, for good. I know the process was a pretty big deal last time and when I woke up this morning I figured I'll just press record and let you guys know first.
"It won't be long-winded. You only get one super emotional retirement essay and I used mine up last year, so really thank you guys so much to every single one of you for supporting me, my family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors, I could go on forever, there's too many.
"Thank you guys for allowing me to live my absolute dream."
With his voice beginning to crack a little, Brady added: "I wouldn't change a thing. Love you all."
While the chance of reconciling with his ex-wife is up in the air, Brady already has the next decade of his life planned out after he signed a 10-year, $375 million deal with FOX Sports to be part of their NFL team.
It is expected that he will be ready to take on this role at the start of the next season.

See Tom Brady's Funny Response To Rob Gronkowski's Retirement
Tom Brady. Retirement. Haven't we been here before?
On Tuesday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski announced his retirement, prompting Brady to issue an amusing response to an ESPN report suggesting that Gronk could possibly return to the field if Brady reached out to him.
The future Hall of Fame quarterback tweeted a popular meme of former congressional candidate Martin Baker making a phone call, with no caption.
While Brady, who himself briefly retired this offseason before changing his mind, may have had some fun on Twitter, he was more sincere in an Instagram post.
"Teammate, friend, brother, just a few of the words that come to mind when I think of @gronk," he wrote. "Nobody has ever embodied the idea of 'leaving it all out on the field' like Rob has throughout his entire career. Every single snap, I knew that no matter how many people you put in front of him, he was going to get to his spot.
"Even more important is the person he was off the field. Focused when he had to be, and FUN the rest of the time. Having Gronk in your locker room was every NFL players dream. I'm proud of all that we've accomplished together, and even more excited for all you have ahead of you. Congrats Gronk, you deserve it."
Gronkowski originally retired following his 2018 season with the New England Patriots. He came out of retirement and teamed up with Brady again on the Buccaneers the last two seasons, winning a Super Bowl in 2020.
Before signing with the Buccaneers, Gronkowski played nine seasons with the Patriots, won three Super Bowls there with Brady, and made five Pro Bowls.
"I will now be going back into my retirement home, walking away from football again with my head held high knowing I gave it everything I had, good or bad, every time I stepped out on the field," Gronkowski wrote on Instagram.
"The friendships and relationships I have made will last forever, and I appreciate every single one of my teammates and coaches for giving everything they had as well. From retirement, back to football and winning another championship and now back to chilling out, thank you to all."
Julian Edelman Uses Will Smith Slapping Meme To Goof On Tom Brady's Brief Retirement - CBS News
BOSTON (CBS) -- Will Smith slapped Chris Rock onstage at the Oscars on Sunday night. It's got everybody in America abuzz on Monday.
That includes Julian Edelman, who decided to get into the fun by entering the meme factory and emerging with a little joke about his pal, Tom Brady.
Edelman kept it simple with his meme, labeling Smith as Tom Brady and labeling Rock as "Retirement."
Clearly, retirement was no match for the GOAT.
It's just the latest in a recent run of memes from Edelman, who appears to be spending his own retirement tinkering around on Photoshop. (Or having other people do that for him so he can tweet out the finished product.)
And while Edelman goofed around at his own potential un-retirement last week in a tweet, that was surely done in jest, as he was quote-tweeting a video that was not new while asking his followers how his knee looks. So for now, it appears the meme career will move forward, while Brady continues to laugh in the face of retirement.
